'Dukes of Hazzard' Cast Reacts to Catherine Bach’s Hospitalization

The Dukes of Hazzard cast is sending support to Catherine Bach after her health scare.

After news broke that the actress was hospitalized for a reported embolism, many coworkers sent love and encouragement online.

“Attention Dukes of Hazzard family!! I just texted Catherine, and thankfully, she responded right away,” John Schneider wrote via Facebook on Thursday, October 30. “Yes, she is in the hospital, but she assures me that she is going to be fine. She appreciates all our prayers and support and is truly disappointed not to be traveling this weekend. We love you, Catherine!l”

Tom Wopat — who played Luke Duke on the ‘80s TV series — shared a throwback photo with Bach, 71, when offering encouragement.

“Tom and the Wopat Webcrew are sending our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Catherine Bach, who was recently hospitalized,” Wopat, 74, wrote via Instagram on Friday, October 31. “Wishing her comfort and a full, speedy recovery ❤️.”

Fans learned about Bach’s health scare when Ben Jones (who played mechanic Cooter Davenport) and his wife, Alma, posted a message on Facebook. (The original post has since been deleted. Us Weekly has reached out to Bach’s rep for comment.)

“Breaking news! Our dear Catherine Bach has just been admitted to the hospital in Los Angeles on an emergency basis,” the couple wrote via Parade. “Catherine has an embolism that probably developed as a result of a recent surgery. We will keep you posted, and Catherine will share her story as soon as she is recovered. She is so, so sorry to have to cancel her appearance at Cooter’s this weekend. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Ben and Miss Alma.”

Bach was scheduled to be in Nashville, Tennessee, during the first weekend of November to meet fans at Cooter’s Place. The establishment is described as a tribute to America’s greatest family show.

In fact, Cooter’s Place’s website describes itself as a museum and shop that holds pictures, props, costumes and memorabilia from the beloved hit television show. Some lucky shoppers may even have the opportunity to meet cast members, who have been known to stop by.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Catherine Bach’s appearance at Cooter’s Place in Nashville on November 1 and 2, 2025, has been canceled,” the establishment wrote via Facebook on Friday. “Catherine and Cooter’s Place are very sorry for any inconvenience. We will reschedule and announce the new date as soon as it’s set. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

Bach played Daisy Duke for more than 140 episodes between 1979 and 1985. Nearly 40 years after the show, the actress remained proud of the show’s legacy.

“We’ve managed to entertain people after all this time. And now it’s a hit on Amazon. It’s just wonderful,” she told Fox News in 2019. “This is what the show was about — entertaining people. I’ve done a lot of different things since that show, but this part somehow continues to connect with people. It just makes me proud. And I just love meeting the fans.”
